A Day in Infamy

December 7, 1941 is a day of lives ended and lives changed forever. Every American was affected on that day, and every American is affected to this day. December 7th taught us that there was and is evil in this world and that good does conquer evil. At an enormous cost and with enormous resolve. Let us who benefited from the sacrifices of our soldier heroes be resolved to uphold good and eliminate evil wherever we find it. God bless The Greatest Generation.
A date which will live in infamy...No matter how long it may take us to overcome this premeditated invasion, the American people, in their righteous might, will win through to absolute victory.
                                                          -President Franklin D. Roosevelt

Beloved Veterans

Those of us who know the difference between Liberty and Tyranny thank you from the bottom of our hearts that you chose Liberty. I hope we live up to your legacy.

POW/MIA You are not Forgotten

Wind and rain did not stop the solemn 12 hour vigil hosted by VFW Post 9473 in Reynoldsburg, Ohio, and dedicated to all our POW/MIA heroes. The 3rd Friday in September is POW/MIA Recognition Day and Veterans and families gathered at the Post for a ceremony to reflect, remember, and mark the beginning of the 12-hour vigil. Post 9473 and Veterans from surrounding Posts including AL Post 283, Pickerington, Ohio, changed guard every 15 minutes from 7PM to 7AM. There are over 83,000 POW/MIA for all wars from WWI onward with over 70,000 from WWII alone. On this day each year the families of POW/MIA, the community, and government officials are reminded that these heroes will not be forgotten and that every effort is being made to bring them home. The wars are not over for them or their families. It won't ever be over until the last one comes home.
