POW/MIA You are not Forgotten

Wind and rain did not stop the solemn 12 hour vigil hosted by VFW Post 9473 in Reynoldsburg, Ohio, and dedicated to all our POW/MIA heroes. The 3rd Friday in September is POW/MIA Recognition Day and Veterans and families gathered at the Post for a ceremony to reflect, remember, and mark the beginning of the 12-hour vigil. Post 9473 and Veterans from surrounding Posts including AL Post 283, Pickerington, Ohio, changed guard every 15 minutes from 7PM to 7AM. There are over 83,000 POW/MIA for all wars from WWI onward with over 70,000 from WWII alone. On this day each year the families of POW/MIA, the community, and government officials are reminded that these heroes will not be forgotten and that every effort is being made to bring them home. The wars are not over for them or their families. It won't ever be over until the last one comes home.
