The co-chair of Barack Obama's Transition Team, Valerie Jarrett, appeared on Meet the Press this weekend and used, shall we say, an interesting word to described what she thinks Barack Obama will be doing in January when he's officially sworn into office. She told Tom Brokaw that Obama will be ready to "rule" on day one. It's a word that reflects the worst fears that people have for Obama the "arrogant," the "messiah," that imagines he's here to "rule" instead of govern.

Jarret told Brokaw that "given the daunting challenges that we face, it's important that president elect Obama is prepared to really take power and begin to rule day one."

Free Speech for Me, but not for Thee

Obama supporters don't mind touting free speech as long as it agrees with them. This is not my yard. But I did have my McCain/Palin sign mutilated three times. The second and third times my car was robbed and my fence gate was completely kicked off the hinges. Each time, the mutilated McCain/Palin sign was deliberately moved and placed nearby. I'm happy to report, though, that my neighbor's Obama sign made it through the election just fine. Maybe I should have put a sign like this in my yard after the first vandalism. Chained to a pit bull.

Obama Says he'll Bankrupt Coal Industry

Imagine if John McCain had whispered somewhere that he was willing to bankrupt a major industry? Would this declaration not immediately be front page news? Well, Barack Obama actually flat out told the San Francisco Chronicle (SF Gate) that he was willing to see the coal industry go bankrupt in a January 17, 2008 interview. The result? Nothing. This audio interview has been hidden from the public...until now. Here is the transcript of Obama's statement about bankrupting the coal industry (emphasis mine):

Let me sort of describe my overall policy.

What I've said is that we would put a cap and trade system in place that is as aggressive, if not more aggressive, than anybody else's out there.

I was the first to call for a 100% auction on the cap and trade system, which means that every unit of carbon or greenhouse gases emitted would be charged to the polluter. That will create a market in which whatever technologies are out there that are being presented, whatever power plants that are being built, that they would have to meet the rigors of that market and the ratcheted down caps that are being placed, imposed every year.

So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can; it's just that it will bankrupt them because they're going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that's being emitted.

That will also generate billions of dollars that we can invest in solar, wind, biodiesel and other alternative energy approaches.

The only thing I've said with respect to coal, I haven't been some coal booster. What I have said is that for us to take coal off the table as a (sic) ideological matter as opposed to saying if technology allows us to use coal in a clean way, we should pursue it.

So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can.

Ohio is Wild About McCain

At Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio, John McCain had this to say:

Obama is running to be Redistribution Chief. I want to be Commander in Chief. Obama is running to spread the wealth. I'm running to create wealth.

This Ohio crowd of thousands made it clear that John McCain is their choice for America.

Despite Obama Grim Reapers, McCain Supporters Raise the Roof at Nationwide Arena

Even Obama Grim Reapers couldn't kill the spirited support and enthusiasm for John McCain on Halloween night in Columbus, Ohio. McCain's supporters were fired up and are ready to win. Not even the mere hint of defeat as they raised the roof at Nationwide Arena. The crowd of over 5,000 went wild as the Straight Talk Express, McCain's bus, rolled ominously into the arena and right up to the stage. McCain, his wife Cindy, and Arnold Swartzenegger stepped off the bus to wild cheers and thunderous applause. Obama Pleads Ignorance-Again

Jeremiah Wright. Obama claims he didn't know his preacher of 20 years preached anti-America hate. Bill Ayers. Obama claims he didn't know his friend was an admitted domestic terrorist. Now Obama claims ignorance again. Obama has an aunt (whom he glowingly wrote about in one of his books) who is living in the U.S. illegally in a Boston housing project. That's right. Obama's aunt is living off your dime. In basically the slums. Know nothing Obama says he didn't know! Why didn't he know? Does he just use people for his gain and then throw them under the bus? Seems so. Notice dear auntie called Obama TWO YEARS AGO, and Obama apparently had no time for the woman.

She attended Obama's swearing-in to the U.S. Senate in 2004, but campaign officials said Obama provided no assistance in getting her a tourist visa and doesn't know the details of her stay. The campaign said he last heard from her about two years ago when she called saying she was in Boston, but he did not see her there.

How many times have we heard Obama say "I am my brother's keeper." Yet millionaire many times over Obama lets his aunt live in the projects. Then Obama expects you the American taxpayer to help pay her rent! This is just a glimpse of what will happen if he becomes President. All the socialistic programs he is proposing will not be paid for by Obama. They will be paid for by you. Obama is promising to spend YOUR money. For God's sakes, he won't even help his own family out. Do you really think he cares about yours?
